The government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has expressed its displeasure that Kenya has allowed the opposition to hold a coalition meeting on its soil.

On December 15, 2023, the politician Corneille Nangaa, who led the Electoral Commission of the DRC, founded the Alliance Fleuve Congo [AFC], which aims to oppose President Tshisekedi.

It was a ceremony held at the Serena Hotel, Nairobi, attended by the President of the M23 armed group, Bertrand Bisimwa.

The Minister of Communications and Media and Spokesman of the DRC Government, Patrick Muyaya, in a press conference in Kinshasa, condemned the establishment of this group, and expressed his regret that it was founded in a "friend country". that is Kenya.

Muyaya said, “This action will have an impact. Kenya needs to give us an explanation. How can a country we work with accept actions aimed at undermining established institutions?”

After the establishment of this group was announced in Nairobi, the Government of the DRC plans to take Kenya's diplomatic measures.

Announcing the birth of this forum officially, Corneille Nangaa, its head, said that the election on the 20th of this month, 12, is like a coup d'état.

They agreed that if Félix Tshisekedi is elected as President, the party will not accept him but will oppose him.
