The Rwandan Army, which is on a counter-terrorism mission in the Cabo Delgado Province of Mozambique, discovered a cache of weapons, explosives and ammunition hidden by the Ansar Al Sunna group in the Mbau area, located in the South. of the settlement of Mocimboa da Praia, which used to be the main base of these rebels before it was taken over by the Rwandan army in 2021.

These weapons include small arms as well as rockets, bullets and other explosives of various types.

These weapons were hidden by Islamic extremists when they were returned by the Rwandan Army and replaced them in their strong bases in Siri 1 and Siri 2 areas in the Mbau area of ​​Cabo Delgado Province.

The search and discovery of these weapons was carried out in order to prevent these extremists from returning to the area and resuming terrorist activities and disrupting the security that had already returned to the area.
