A man suspected of being a Rwandan on Saturday, June 18, was killed by civilians in Kalima Commune, Pangi Territory, about a hundred kilometers from Kindu Town, the capital of Maniema, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

So far, according to 7sur7.cd, officials in the province of Maniema have not commented on the cause of death of the man, who is said to be a Rwandan. Only eyewitnesses say he died of his injuries.

His body was cremated in the city center this Sunday morning, according to sources.

In a statement issued Sunday, Maniema's caretaker governor, Afani Idrissa Mangala, called on the people of the province to calm down.

"In the aftermath of the tragedy in Kalima on Saturday, June 18, 2022, the (interim) Governor Afani Idrissa Mangala, called on all the people of Pangi Territory in general and the people of Kalima Commune in particular to calm down and not give up on peace and development enemies," he said.”

On the other hand, Human Rights Watch, Haki Zabinadamu-Maniema, condemned the so-called civil justice atrocities, reminding them that human life is precious.
